Want to reach your desired destination?
You need a vision statement.
Two people decide to go on a journey together.
“Let’s go on an adventure!!” says the driver.
“Cool, where are we going?!” says the passenger.
“I don’t know, maybe we should get in the car and just drive?” the driver responds.
Yay!! Road trip!
Pretty exciting, right?
I mean who doesn’t like to go on an spontaneous adventure?
Let’s be honest though, once the spontaneity wears off, and the road trip anthems grow tired, it’s likely that the passenger will start to ask questions like:
- How long before we can take a break?
- Is the end destination actually somewhere I want to go?
- Why did I agree to this?
- Is this person actually taking me on a road trip?
- Are they really my friend?
- Am I going to die?
Ok, maybe I’m overreacting a little bit. (I deeply regret ever watching Wolf Creek)
But the truth is, if you’re going on a journey, it’s fair enough to want to know where you’re going, right?

When you’re an entrepreneur it’s the same story, only the vehicle isn’t your car, it’s your business and the destination is your vision.
Quite simply, a lack of vision is a road to nowhere for a business.
It doesn’t matter how good your products or services are, if your audience don’t feel inspired by your view of the future it makes becomes a struggle to grow a loyal following and develop a strong foundation for your brand.
A strong vision is the difference between a small business and a global organisation.

A strong vision statement will help you avoid distraction and keep you focused on what matters the most.
Over time, having vision will help you build resilience and keep you inspired to keep on going regardless of the setbacks.
